2012,Here I Come!!!!!

As 2011 comes to a close I feel that I need to do something special. So I am going to make a few goals for the New Year. Goal Number One: Don't give up on this little adventure called a blog. Goal Number Two: Run in 2 races before the end of the year.Running each mile in 4 minutes if not less.Goal Number Three: Wear some sort of jewelry everyday. These task sound easy on paper but I am going to really have to work at them. I think that the first one will be very easy to do because this is something that I enjoy. Sure as of right now no one reads this little bitty blogs and people might never read it but strangely enough I don't care. I like writing about things that I enjoy. The other two will be something that I will have to work on every day.  My Second goal will involve a lot of training and fingers crossed it will not involve any injures. My last but most likely my hardest goal  will take planning and forcing myself to not give into the urge to rip anything that is on my neck off. All of these goals kind of make me sound like a crazy person but I think that they are really going to add to how wonderful 2012 will be.This being said I am sad to see 2011 come to a close but at the same time I am curious to see what 2012 has in store for me. Maybe something big or maybe just small things that don't seem like much but make life even better like finding a new band who has music that speaks to your soul.

Pretty in Pink!

Pink Shoes!

Bright crazy colored flats are borderline ridiculous or so I thought..... until I got a par of hot pink flats for Christmas from my parents. At first they where in the pile of things to return. Along with a to big navy cable knit sweater. With these two items right beside each other a light went off in my head. How cute would pink shoes look with a outfit that does not have much color. If you have not noticed I kind of like making a outfit pop with color. So these shoes are kind of perfect for me. They are a new staple in my closet.

Pea Coats!

As it is winter we are all in need of a fabulous coat.Everyone craves one that is fashionably but will not leave us hanging when the show starts to fall. For some strange reason we just grab our old North Face Jackets because they get the job done. Might not be the cutest thing in the world but they sure are warm and keep the snow out. This year I made a pact with myself that I would only wear my North Faces for Soccer events and outside runs. When it start to get chilly outside I went out and bought a brand knew Black Pea Coat. I was highly skeptical about it being as cozy as my dearly beloved North Faces. Strangely enough this jacket blew my mind it was 5 stars all around. My Pea Coat was Warm and Fashionable.(It was totally mindboggling). I had been missing out on these types of wonders coats for years. Now, that I have see the light that is a good Pea Coat. I encourage everybody to change there ways and start wearing Pea Coats.

Black Flats!

Addictions-compulsive physiological need for a habit-forming drug. In my case that drug would be black flats. Trust me I know that this is very unusual. It is also extremely annoying. For some unknown reason ever time I see a pair of black flats I buy them. I wear every pair almost equally. They are all black glossy patent leather. That is as far as they go on similarities. Because of this addiction I have learned that black flats are extremely usable.  You can wear them with jeans and a plain t-shirt or a dressy dress. Those are two night and day outfits yet you can wear the same pair of shoes. Can't say that about many shoes in your closet. Black flats just pull a outfit together in this amazing way that makes you look like you put a lot of thought into your outfit when you really did not. Trust me my addiction at times is costly but when it comes down to it I wear black flats so much that it is worth it!
My favorite pair! (I love the little bow)

Tights

Tights!

To go barelegged in the winter is basically a sin in my book because your going to freeze and your pasty legs are not going to be very attractive.Besides these two facts that we all know in the back of our heads are true when we go barelegged. This is the one time of the year that you can add some crazy pattern to your legs and not getting a weird face. Why, some of us don't take advantage of this opportunity I don't know. What I do know is  that I sure do. Oddly enough the best solid color tights I have are the L'egg brand they have control tops (just like spanks). If your in the dark on this wonderful new crazy, they pull you in and smooth you out giving you the perfect shape. (tip: Even if you don't think you need spanks with a dress or skirt you do. Trust me you do everybody does and this is coming from a girl who is still getting some clothes off the little girls rack......) These might be the best tights to have for a patterned or a brightly colored skirt/dress. But when your in need of something to really make your outfit pop look no further than JCrew they did not disappoint this year in the color department now the pattern department they left me hanging. Making me go searching high and low for somewhere that offered pattern that I wanted so very much. No fear my forever faithful Kate Spade had what my little heart was craving.Look below for my winter tight favorites!

Kate Spade (Loving the polka dots. Wish I had a tan and white pair too....)

L'eggs (look at that support)

JCrew (Not that crazy of a color but hey it is just December I still have sometime for some crazy colors. No fear I will keep you posted.)

It is a Preppy Christmas!

Now that Thanksgiving has past we can all decorate our houses for Christmas without being called tacky. This can be a Woot Woot moment or a Oh No how should I decorate this year moment. The last one is me I love Christmas but I get so stressed out trying to decorate for it. Trying to skip the stress I started to plan a few week before I was going to put up my decoration on what I wanted. I went looking for something to inspire my tree I lucked out and found two things that where more than enough inspiration for me. The worlds cutest name tags and this crazy pink glittery garland.(Tip: look around the story find one thing you love and go from there with your decoration.) Those two beloved items lead me to the color theme of Pink, Silver, and Black.Sure these are not traditional Christmas colors but I think you need to mix it up or your just going to have a mundane tree.
You think the hardest part is finding the ornaments in the colors you want but the in truth finding a tree skirt is the hardest part.I looked everywhere and could not find anything. This lead me to the next part of my journey to have a preppy Christmas with my own personal flare. This next step is none other than the sewing part. My Dad told me that taking a Home Ec class was pointless saying I would never need anything I learned in there. Oh how he was wrong.(Sewing is a very very useful skill to know.)I had a vision of what I wanted so I went out and bought what I needed ; a dark pink and a light pink feather boa plus pink and white polka dot fabric. All you have to do is cut the fabric out to fit around your tree like you want it to. Then, just use your sewing machine to fix the edges. You could sew the boas onto the fabric if you wanted to but I just laid them the way I wanted them. It is really that easy. Ribbon is a most have at anytime of the year but at Christmas it is a crime not to have any.You can do loads of stuff with ribbon it looks fabulous on presents and as a tree topper. Here are some pictures of the finished product.
My Classy owl and his bow tie I made out of some extra ribbon from the tree topper.

Finished tree and yes the gift tags are on there.

Hand-made tree skirt.

The Cutest gift bag I found for my best friend. She Can be a grump sometimes so  this is very fitting

A Shopping Frustration!!!!!!!!

Whether you love them or you hate them Rain Boots are a needed item. Not only for winter but for all seasons. Picking the right ones is something that is not a easy task. You want a pair that will not only guard your feet from the elements but also look stylish. This means you have two daunting task in front of you. Your not only looking for fashionable but also Rain Boots to save yourself from cold, wet feet. Some people might just run out and buy a pair that are kind of cute but will only last you one season. We all know that there are loads of Rain Boots out there and that is the problem there are so many different brand and styles that you just can't narrow it down to ONE pair. As a prep you want a classic pair of Rain Boots. To me you can't get anymore classic prep than Original Gloss Tall Hunter Brand Rain Boots. This boots might be more costly than some of the other competitors but really there is not a competition at all. These boots are like the Under Armour ColdGear Colorblock compression Leggings, Fashionable and protective from whatever Mother Nature is  throwing at you.

Winter......

This is the season to be jolly right but it looks so doom and gloom outside which makes it kind of hard. Just because the weather makes you feel the need to wear black everyday.Does not mean you should. Crazy thought I know because when you look around everybody has on black or grey. Why not put some color into this drab season. If you  have that horrible need to wear something to match the way the sky looks this winter don't pair it with something that is just as gloomy. Be completely crazy and grab a bright colorful item (i.e. a crazy colored scarf with a black sweater.) Everybody needs a piece of sunshine everyday and in the winter when the sun is not always there for our fixation. We have to find it somewhere else and that somewhere is in our clothes.

Happy Days!!!

There is a First Time For Everything.

Most prepsters say pink and green are their favorite colors. I will tell you something different I love the colors pink and navy. They go together in a much more classic way. When you look in my closet the largest color section is going to be and always will be the navy spot. So when your picking out your outfit for tomorrow try a navy sweater with a pale pink striped button up. Trust me you will love it.
